first look back

I've been resisting the idea of blogging for a long time. Not that I don't enjoy writing, but blog require thought, great blogs require lots of thought. And I'm usually reserving my thinking for other things, such as stories, novels and pickup lines.

So as the first blog on here, I'll spend it talking about the past year. That's right, a look back at 2011 when we're entering the thrid month of 2012.

On New Year's day of 2011, I made a few resolutions, all of them revolving around my writing. My first novel was set to be released in the fall (although the publisher ended up pushing it back to mid-December). But I wanted to have a second novel written and in the hands of a publisher by year's end. I got half way there. The first draft was finished in November and I took December off, to concentrate on writing 4 short stories to submit to anthologies. I got three written and submitted (still waiting to hear back on those.).

I can't complain. I feel good about where I'm at so far. 2012 looks like it'll be a great year. So many goals have been set and I'm determined to get them all squeezed in before December 31 ... assuming that the world doesn't end.
